Before the Raiders would take the field on game day john would always say to his team "don't worry about the horse being blind, just load the wagon" the teamed loved John and they responded by make him to this day the highest winning percentage of any coach with over 100 wins.

With the recent passing of the Raider Legend John Madden on the 28th of December 2021, this was the Raiders first home game since his death at the age of 85. John was a legend in every sense of the word. Most people would be considered successful if they just had his career in coaching, or his career in broadcasting.
