For those attune to the weather and I think everyone is, this was the beginning of our Pineapple express days just a few day ago! Beginning about December 3, 2023 and over the course of two days we in Gearhart had over 5" of the good stuff begin to flood us out! In the foreground lies a combination of waters from the Neacoxie Creek that flows out of Gearhart, the Neawana Creek that flows around the south side of Seaside and the Necanicum that flows through the middle of Seaside, Oregon. All three independent rivers meet in the Necanicum Estuary and then a half-a-mile to the west the Pacific Ocean flows inland a bit! This is the Gearhart side of the Estuary. Pelicans fly here in the summer to feast on shrimp and other morsels but in the winter those birds, they are smart, they fly south for the winter!
